In 1976, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and another friend were all arrested for possession of marijuana in Rochester, New York. This arrest came as a surprise to approximately no one.

Though revered for her songwriting chops, singer Janis Joplin’s words once landed her behind bars. The star was arrested for “vulgar and obscene language” after telling police officers “don't f— with those people” during a 1969 performance in Tampa, Florida.
